The Evil Sub-standard Phones Destroying Nigerians

The influx of Chinese phones into the Nigerian market has being on the rise for a while now. These phones are ridiculously cheap, and come with unbelievable specs. It is not news that most Nigerians have begun to patronise these products. However, the question that should worry Nigerians is how safe are these Chinese phones?

It is also noteworthy that most popular mobile phones brands shipped into Nigerian market are made for Asian market. This is the major reason why price of phones are cheaper in Nigeria than say the European market. IT experts have pointed out that phones sent into Asia market are relatively more inferior to phones meant for the European market. This inadvertently means most phones sent into Nigeria are of inferior quality. It is no wonder today’s Nokia phones seem less strong than the first ones earlier introduced in Nigerian market (Most Nokia phones in Nigeria today are made in Asia unlike the ones time past which were made in Finland)

However, even though most of these popular phone brands manufacture phones of lesser quality for Nigerian market, their phones meet the required standards. These standards are there to prevent damage to human health and our environment.

This cannot be said of most unknown mobile phones brands of Chinese origins as those manufacturers cut corners to manufacture cheap phones which do not meet the most minimum standard requirements for human consumption. There is little Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) can do due to our porous borders.

As a Nigerian, there are two ways to protect you from the evil substandard phones in our markets.

1) Do not patronise them – No matter how cheap the phone is or the number of specs it has, do not buy unknown mobile phone brands.

2) Spread this news and convince others to stop using unknown mobile phone brands. You are still in danger of harm if others around you use these phones. These phones pollute our environment with the most harmful radioactivity. The evils of these phones include brain damage, soil destruction and cancer, just to mention a few.
