Our Attitudes Matter A Lot

Our attitudes to work, friends, family, strangers and life in general matters a great deal. It can bring good or weaken our plans

These quotes tell us more about attitudes

Albert Einsten – “Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character”

Earl Nightingale – “Our attitude towards others determines their attitude towards us”

Hans Selye – “Adopting the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive one”

John C. Maxwell – “People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude”

Some words of wisdoms from The Bible- Proverbs Time

“Keep your mouth closed and you’ll stay out of trouble “- proverbs 21 vs. 23 (My mouth please learn to be shut)

“Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender” – Proverbs 22 vs. 7 (clears throat at all debt ridden rich men and first world countries)

“Be sure you know a person well before you vouch for his credit! Better refuse than suffer later” – Proverbs 11 vs. 15 (I still maintain giving people benefit of doubt until proven otherwise)

“If you refuse criticism you will end in poverty and disgrace; if you accept criticism you are on the road to fame” – Proverbs 13 vs. 18 (Em, my blog is open for any kind of criticism please, hahaha)

Self-Love – A much Needed Love

You are your best friend and can be your worst enemy. The power to feel like crap, total failure and nobody rests in your hands. No one can make you feel worthless without your permission.

So why give people the permission to degrade you? So what if you are a little over size ten or below size four? So what if you are short or too tall? So what if you are poor academically? So what if you are the only single amongst your mates? So what if you have been married for long without a child? So what if you are jobless? So what if every business you start fails? So what if you can’t keep relationships? So what if your friends aren't loyal?

There are lots of ways you may not measure up to world standard but none of them should matter so much that you hate and see yourself as a total failure . Regardless of what ought not, do have it at the back, front, sides and centre of your mind that you are a wonderful human being worthy of love and all the good things of life.

Give yourself some self-love, blow your own trumpet till the whole world rises up in recognition. Do not allow your shortcomings pull you back rather push out your short comings. Let your imperfection strengthen and inspire you to be better.

Fathers Are Awesome!

No matter how annoying mothers are, most children still relate better with them. Fathers as heads of families are feared; they are respected and treated as demi-gods. Fathers are overprotective and their presence offers a sense of security to their families.

Anyone with a good father will agree fathers deserve as much accolades as mothers. Fathers have ears that do not just hear but listen; they understand your feelings when shared and are more likely to admit a failure than our mothers. They are also the least likely to say “Your children will do same to you”. They hardly use emotional blackmail.

Are you still Unemployed? Try this…

I know first-hand what it feels like to search for a job – your dream job without success. It leaves one feeling depressed, angry and unintelligent.

A jobless fellow is bound to feel the fault lies with him/her; she/he would feel unqualified, not smart enough and every other self-depreciating feeling. The fact is that your joblessness is not totally your fault or government. Countries with large population are bound to have unemployment as one of its problems.

The problem of unemployment is not a Nigerian issue alone, it is a world problem; most recent university graduates end up doing jobs unrelated to their course of study. This is because of inadequate jobs from UK, to USA, Russia, China down to Nigeria, unemployment has become an ugly trend especially for university graduates.

This doesn't mean graduates should lose faith in securing his or her dream job rather applicants need to up their game plan in job search. An applicant needs to employ creative resources to convince prospective employers they are better than other applicants.

It all starts with getting your CV across to a person in position to offer you an employment. In this case, the CEO, Director or Executive Officer of a company is the most perfect. It is tasking to pass most company’s security and submit your CV to the CEO. This is what you can do;

1) Research the names of the company’s top executives and also important associations the company or executives belong to

Smiley Credit: india-forums.com

Love is a beautiful thing some say; it fills your life with happiness and fulfilment. Countless famous persons have left us with their varying impressions on love. Here are ten lovely quotes about love.

1) Aristotle – “Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies”

2) Dwilight L. Moody – “Faith makes all things possible – love makes all things easy”

3) Jackson Brown, Jr. – “Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own”

5) Leo Buscaglia – “Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life”

Welcome To Our Over-sexualized World

Sex has become an under-priced activity. It is less expensive than mobile phone internet browsing. We live in a period that equalizes sex on same level as talking. We hear it from today’s song lyrics. We see it on TV and feel it in our environment.

Sex has become a casual thing people engage in with anybody not excluding strangers. The rate at which people share body fluids and flesh is disturbing. Especially when you consider those same people find it difficult sharing their wealth and gadgets with friends talk more strangers.

The world is pushing to the point where the only acceptable norm is having as much expertise in unconventional sex practices as a person’s head can take. Sex has become an activity given so much importance and usefulness like drinking water.

Stay At Home Mums Should Be Ashamed

Look around and you will find women achieving great feats in different fields of endeavours. While some of these women maintain a home front with a budding career, a good number pour themselves into their careers avoiding marriage and motherhood.

A woman who combines a family and career is praised to high heavens, she’s the new ideal woman today. She is the kind of woman young girls are advised to emulate. Similarly, the world is beginning to acknowledge the greatness of single women making their marks in the world.

Stay at home mums seem to be the only category of women left behind. They are the ones still looked down upon by society and their fellow women. Why should a woman be a stay at home mum in this century some would ask?  I used to be amongst those asking this question until recently I thought

Thank You Death

Thank you Death
You brought the elusive peace
Funny how we dreaded you, then suddenly anticipated you
She was dead before her death, heartbroken since the 1960’s
After the heartbreaks, came enemies of good health
Attacking first a leg then both legs
From a woman full of life to a mere ghost shadow
No one saw but heard of
Her feet could no longer leave or come as her mind pleases
Each night her eyes were red, her heart filled with such pains

Yet her family maintained hope, they prayed fervently
Their prayers always never answered

Get Inspired By These Quotes

Smiley Credit: symbols-n-emoticons.com

One of the great things quotes do is to inspire people. Quotes have a way of giving us authentic ideas and insights. If these four quotes do not inspire you, I don't know what will.

1) Milton Berle – “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door”

2) Norman Vincent Peale – “Change your thoughts and you change the world”

Witches May Be In Villages But Village People Have Better Life

Life in cities is beyond stressful. Our brain is significantly affected by living in an over populated environment; especially one that lacks enough trees. Villages are more likely to have vegetation, trees, less population and less stress for our brains.

The nature of villages makes them healthy and better for our overall well-being. Pollution, toxins and noise is rarity in villages. A great peace of mind is achievable from villages – no traffic gridlock, less number of rude people and low crime rate.

In cities, everyone is your friend but no one is really your friend when you need it. You do not know your neighbours well enough and child predators are more likely to be hidden in cities. Villages offer the best of friendship-friendship that is not based on material things but mutual respect and love. Everyone knows everyone in villages; this makes it hard for criminals to hide in villages. Every mother watches out for all the children in villages – this means you do not have to worry much when you leave your child home alone, there would be enough eyes watching over that child.

Spot, Stop and Cut Off The Pretenders In Your Life

We all hate pretenders. We all acknowledge that pretenders are amongst us. We all believe pretenders secretly wish for our downfall. We all are unsure how to separate pretenders from the real friends in our lives.

There are different tested ways to spot pretenders. Once pretenders are spotted then you can stop and cut them out of your life. No one needs pretenders in their life. Pretenders bring negativity and destructions everywhere they are.

First, who is a pretender? A pretender is a hypocrite, a closet hater and an enemy pretending to be a friend. Pretenders have two faces and multiple personalities. Some may say they have mental problem. Common attributes of pretenders are;

Yes You Are A Stalker

It is fairly normal and acceptable today for people to check up on others social media timeline in order to follow up on the latter’s activities. Good and fine there is nothing wrong with checking up on friends now and then but when it becomes too often, then stalking is the new definition.

In this part of the world, we take stalking lightly and make fun of stalkers. Some of us even enjoy having one or more stalkers. Stalkers are sometimes wrongfully classified as fans or haters. This is farther from the truth. At the back of our minds, most believe they have stalkers. We same believers of stalkers in our lives are unlikely to admit we are stalkers ourselves.

Parenthood Just Like Marriage Is Not For All

We have seen marriage succeed. We have seen marriage crash like a pack of cards. We have heard and seen people get killed staying in unhealthy marriages. We have seen people commit crimes to save marriages. It might be right to say that not all whom are married ought to be married. Some are mentally immature; few are irresponsible others are too selfish to be married. Yet it has not stopped such persons from venturing into the marriage institution. This could be one of the reasons for broken marriages.

Ideally, parenthood should come after marriage but this is no longer the case: we have more persons having children out of wedlock. Parenthood like marriage is not meant for everyone; not all who can be parents have the capacity to be one.

Husband Is An Overrated Commodity

The world still holds the erroneous belief that every woman needs a husband to be complete: a husband is regarded as the only priceless commodity a woman should have second to her virginity. The husband is seen as provider and protector.

A notion which has made most men believe they are the next best thing since agege bread. No one seems to care if these men have good enough personality to make good partners. In fact women are encouraged to work hard in measuring up to men with questionable characters and standards. At the end, when a woman allows herself a bit of truth; the realisation hits that husbands are not all that.

For one, husbands are meant to give a sense of security, protect and shield a wife from harm’s way. In real life husbands spend most of their time with fellow male friends or lovers as the case may be; most husbands spend little time with their family even when not working. They leave the wife to do the protecting and shielding alone.

The Evil Sub-standard Phones Destroying Nigerians

The influx of Chinese phones into the Nigerian market has being on the rise for a while now. These phones are ridiculously cheap, and come with unbelievable specs. It is not news that most Nigerians have begun to patronise these products. However, the question that should worry Nigerians is how safe are these Chinese phones?

It is also noteworthy that most popular mobile phones brands shipped into Nigerian market are made for Asian market. This is the major reason why price of phones are cheaper in Nigeria than say the European market. IT experts have pointed out that phones sent into Asia market are relatively more inferior to phones meant for the European market. This inadvertently means most phones sent into Nigeria are of inferior quality. It is no wonder today’s Nokia phones seem less strong than the first ones earlier introduced in Nigerian market (Most Nokia phones in Nigeria today are made in Asia unlike the ones time past which were made in Finland)

Women Are Better Listeners

A woman’s brain is so structured that while she listens to a speaker, she can still hear and process other conversation going on around her.

Women are not capable of tuning out sounds in their environment. A woman’s ears are always open and can accommodate as many sounds as there are in her environment. Of course, we know that stems from women’s snooping nature (women love to gossip).

In cases like this, a quote from a reputable individual is just the antidote to give you a clearer view on life. Take a look at these eight quotes from eight famous personalities on life. You just might see life in a much clearer way.

A Medical Myth: Impregnated by a toilet

There has been a medical myth that women can get pregnant from toilet seat. Say virgin Mary someone?  The woman doesn't need to have sex; she just needs to be ovulating and a living sperm has to be on the toilet seat. Confused? Okay let’s go back from the beginning and create a better understandable scenario.

A man for some reason uses the toilet and leaves sperm on the seat, a woman who is ovulating sits on the toilet and the sperm for some reason slips in and fertilizes the woman’s ovaries; boom she becomes pregnant! (Yuck at the thought of using a toilet with sperm on it?)

So is this myth true? Well doctors are not giving us a strong direct answer. Doctors have explained this myth as not factual because the chance of a sperm being alive on toilet seat long enough to get a woman pregnant is high unlikely.

Doctors have gone on to point that sperm once excreted from the body doesn't live long. This is to say that sperms do not live long if in an unnatural environment.

Most doctors’ explanation on getting pregnant from toilet seat has still not stopped people from insisting that this medical myth is in fact reality. They base their argument on the hypothesis by few doctors of a very slim possibility women may actually get pregnant from using the toilet

So women, here is another reason not to sit on a public toilet. What do you think?

Are Pastors Right To Dictate One’s Spouse?

Photo Credit: Beverly Naya Instragram Page

Once upon a time marriages in all parts of the world were based on arrangement. Families came together and decided if their children were compatible and when proven right are joined in marriage.

At present, Christians have added another dimension to Christianity; pastor must confirm your intending spouse is for you. Apparently these pastors have the vision to see if your chosen spouse is the right one for you. I have seen instances were a wedding has been fixed but ends up being cancelled because a pastor is against the union. I still don’t understand this phenomenon.

Woman Keep Your Sex Life Private

Sex is like pooping, it is an activity meant to be private and people ought to be ashamed discussing it publicly with such careless abandon.

Especially if you are woman; women ought to always be more sensible than their opposite counterpart. It is unfathomable when women think equality is taking on the behavioural activities of the opposite gender we find tasteless.

Unflattering Nicknames For World Leaders

As the president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan was given some hurtful nicknames such as clueless, Otuoke Drunkard etc. Currently General Muhammed Buhari is on the hot seat and barely a month through he has being nicknamed Daura Dullard, Dullardinho, Baba Once Chance amongst other unflattering names.

Nigerian presidents aren't the only leaders who have to endure some unflattering and at times downright ridiculous nicknames. Here are nicknames for some countries’ leaders.

Ex- President  of the United States of America George Bush – Bushit, 15-watt Fraud,  Chimp-in-Chief, Demented Cowboy, Gutless Wonder Boy, Illegal Unsurper, Idiot Prince, Imbecile-in-Chief etc.

Christianity and Islam May Just be The Wrong Religions For Nigerians

First I tend an apology to my fellow Christians  and Muslim friends who may get offended by this write up.

Christianity and Islam are both considered Abrahamic religions by theologians, historians and archaeologists. Both religions have so much in common yet their practitioners would swear one is better than the other.

The daily lives of the average Nigerians show us struggling to cope with these two religions. There was a time we could eat and live together without irrational fear of the other. Christianity and Islam has made us more wary and suspicious of others.

Both religions stipulate that judgement is for God but this has not deterred Nigerians from judging (I am very much guilty of this too). You see Muslims causing chaos all in the name of Allah and one wonders if Allah is sleeping and cannot fight?

Do we talk about Christians? Men and women who go to church but have the heart to set a  fellow human ablaze because of theft. What about those who strip women naked, taking away their dignity? You begin to wonder if these Christians missed the bible verse were Jesus asked "Let him without sin cast the first stone"? Brazenly going against Jesus Christ and most would still have the effrontery to defend their actions.

Western Powers Aids Corruption In Africa

Clarification western powers are countries in league with USA, UK and Switzerland.

Confused? think prostitution. Prostitutes exist because there is a market for their service. Prostitution is illegal in most countries so is patronizing prostitutes. Prostitutes and their patrons when caught are punished. Patrons are most often times blamed in western nations for the existence of prostitution

Governments of third world countries such as the one we live in are corrupt. They steal money meant for third world and dump into the open arms of the first world. Confused again? Western world powers belong to this first world. The governments of third worlds are forever getting caught and punished but no one is punishing the first world systematically aiding their corruption.
