Veronica + Pablo - APFR (Telemundo's Tierra De Reyes)

Veronica and Pablo are the only reason I watch Telemundo Africa's A Passion For Revenge.

So I will be bringing you updates on the gorgeous couple as the show progresses.

Episode 43 - Update
After Leonardo punched Pablo because he suspected Pablo of romantic entanglement with Sophia, the maid Rocio took it upon herself to clean him up. Veronica walks in on them and after hearing what led to the cut on Pablo's face asked(well commanded) Rocio to go do her chores as she will take care of Pablo(and boy, she did take care of him!).

From cleaning Pablo's face, next we see Veronica breathing wants on his face, her eyes daring and lips tempting Pablo for a kiss. "Oh Veronica, don't do this, I am not good enough for you" Pablo said to Veronica, all the while not moving an inch from her face (there is nothing hotter than a hot guy who is oblivious of his hotness)

"I don't care, I have tried to fight it, I can't. I want you" replied Veronica (yes Veronica is young, beautiful, rich and fabulous but she wants poor hot Pablo even though she's engaged and we have learnt so far that what Veronica wants, she gets)

Pablo lowers his lips on hers gently, slightly hesitant like a little boy playing with his favourite expensive toy for the first time. (Just when I was about to scream "yes, yes, yes", Soledad walked in on them and tried to be a "downer") but Veronica put her in her place "I haven't given you the right to interfere in my life, you are just a servant, see you later Pablo" said Veronica (roughly translated "if you see me kissing Pablo next time, don't you dare interrupt Soledad, Pablo I look forward to more kisses)

My favourite quotes from Veronica and Pablo from this episode are;

*Pablo to Veronica (As his lips touched Veronica's lips)- "Those eyes had me from the very first moment that we met"

*Veronica to Pablo (after Pablo tells her that he doesn't understand why Leonardo feels threatened by him because a woman of Sophia's status cannot want someone like him) - "Well if I was Sophia, Leonardo would have a lot to worry about"

Nigerian feminists are jokers!!!

These are some of the statements I have read and heard self-professed Nigerian feminists say about Linda Ikeji which solidified they are jokers.

"Linda Ikeji's wealth is not from blogging, she must be sleeping with someone" - slut tagging/ supporting the notion that successful women must have slept/ are sleeping with someone.

"Linda Ikeji is wrong, she is a woman. she should not buy expensive things or show off her possessions" - Telling a female to live according to societal norm.

"Linda Ikeji deserves all Wizkid dished to her" - supporting slut shaming & violence against women.

"Linda Ikeji wants to destroy Wizkid's career by reporting him to the police. She did that because she has money and power" - supporting the erroneous belief that women cannot be trusted with money or power

"Linda Ikeji talks too much about male blokos. She is a woman it is wrong"- Supporting the sexual inhibition of women

"Don't you just love the funny memes of Linda being single trending online, serves her right, right?", said the Nigerian feminist happily. - Supporting shaming of unmarried women

I decided to use Linda Ikeji as an example because she embodies what feminism is about "a self independent woman who can do/ achieve what society believes a single woman can't"

Yet we have our so called feminists supporting slut shaming, violence and all kinds of things against Linda Ikeji simply because she is not downtrodden enough? She made some offensive reports? She is not personable?She is successful without being married?

When they encourage ills against Linda Ikeji, do they not understand that they support everything their movement is against? Do they not understand they are empowering men to slut shame/ threaten violence against women they dislike? Do these jokers not realise they are justifying our society's ill-conceived beliefs of women?Do they not realise, their attack clears our senators from not signing bills protecting women?

Most Nigerian feminists "hate" Linda Ikeji because she is the closest to what feminism is about. They have no idea what feminism is? Thus, cannot come to terms with a real feminist.

Maybe there is something in the air that makes beliefs and movements take different forms in Nigeria. That would explain the case of self-professed Nigerian feminists.

Telemundo's Cruel Love Would Have Been Cruel With These Endings..

You see I have too much time to waste and what better way than on Telemundo's Cruel Love. The Show attracted me because of the cast and a storyline that is relatable to everyday love stories. If you have watched this show continue to read

I wished they had made Sophia a stronger character - from a young gullible lady to a fearless woman won't would not go back to her vomit (in this case Antonio is the chief vomit). A woman who is independent and can defend herself without breaking into tears.

So I created three directions the show should have taken to strengthen the character of Sopiha and give her some control of her life. Do read and share your thoughts.

Alternative endings the story should have followed;

Alternative 1 –Sophia has a miscarriage which leaves her and Antonio devastated, and unable to reconcile. Sophia’s loss strengthens her negatively and she embarks on a revenge mission to take down Camilia and everything dear to her. She ends up getting her revenge through well planned strategy which includes some mentally tormenting traps that leave Camillia paranoid and finally sentenced to a mental institution.

Due to the Camilia’s drama, the project never takes off, both Rocky and Antonio realizes that Sophia has changed a lot and not the gentle easy to manipulate girl they fell in love with. Rocky decides to take his relationship with his band mate to another level and forgets his fight with the Brandowhile Antoniomeets the Vet Miranda whose kind heart reminds him a bit about the innocent Sophia

The show ends with Sophia in a new town looking more confident and wise. A young rich man approaches her and they seem to engage but she is shown as much more in control and bold

Alternative 2 – After Sophia is cleared of theft, she realizes she doesn’t want anything to do with the Brando Family. The only way to do this would be to abort the pregnancy. She offhandedly tells this to her brother in anger after she learns he works for Antonio. Her brother rushes to get Antonio to stop her. Antonio gets to the hospital and is outraged to meet an un-pregnant Sophia. He is disappointed in her and does not want anything to do with her. Antonio’soutbursts infuriateSophia who feels he is unjustified in his outbursts. She irrationally feels the need to make Antonio and Camilia pay for the pain they caused her. She achieves this by playing a video of Antonio and Camilia having sex to a public with all the Brando clan present.

Gonzalo divorces Camilia and when he finds out that Antonio’s mother knew about the sordid affair erroneously believe that all the Brando family knew. In anger he teams up with the Vladiri to destroy the Brandos. Camilia goes in hiding to avoid the shame although she continues to meet Antonio in secret. Sophia begins to date Rocky to spite Antonio, at first Antonio appears affected but with time becomes used to the relationship. Gonzalo and the Vladiris are finally able to take over the Brandos Company and this leaves Cecilia, Pedro and her daughter in-law bankrupt and dependent on Antonio for survival. At same time Antonio gets to know that Camilia is not really his cousin and wants to make their relationship official though he still keeps to his dog ways

Rocky and Sophia changes after Rocky sees his former manager doing badly and the manager reminds him to remain the good Rocky no matter what as tides can change. The show ends with us seeing the kind and good Rocky and Sophia we knew before

Alternative 3 –Antonio’ssuit to take full custody of his son with Sophia saddens her but this sadness turns to fury when she realizes that the Cecilia Brando was going to play dirty. Sofia rejects her lawyer’s suggestion to ask Cecilia to testify in her favour. Sophia gets her lawyers to sue the Brando Company for fraud, defamation of character and attempted murder. She’s around when the suit is delivered in the presence of Cecilia and promises the latter war for taking the wrong side. Sophia uses Rocky to get the call that transpired betweenCamilia and her. This recording proves that Camilia intended to hurt the child. Sophia ends up keeping the child, her job and monetary compensation.

The Brando considers Sophia’s defence a betrayal and plot to kick her out of their company. However, Sophia is now wiser and fails to fall into any of their traps. She convinces the Vladiri she desires to destroy the Brandos whilst in actual sense she wants to use the Vladiri take over Brando Construction. Camilia is unhappy with Antonio’s relationship with Miranda and tries unsuccessfully to break them up. Sophia tricks Rocky into selling his houses and also manages to get the Vladiristo entrust her and give back Brando’s properties and shares in their care to Sophia’s name. Camilia believes that Sophia would be the perfect person to break up Antonio’s blossoming relationship the only snag is that all Sophia is interested in is building an empire. Camilia devises a plan to get Sophia interested in chasing after Anthonio. Sophia surprises all to unveil a friendly hostile takeover of the company from both Vladiri and Brando to form a Santana Brando Company. Rocky is livid that Sophia played him and in anger promises revenge.

The Brandos are impressed by Sophia’s achievements but still hate her guts and accuse her of being a social climber like they thought. Sophia puts them in their place as she reminds them that Brando Company had nothing and it was she who resurrected it and she is proud that her son can have something good to inherit.

Camilia in a desperate attempt to get Sophia do her bidding kidnaps Nick but gets caught in the process. She is charged to court and gets imprisoned. Sophia reconnects with Doc during this time and both decide to give each other another chance.

Two years later, we see Rocky has been trying to bring Sophia down but fails as she is one of the most important personalities in town.  Sophia is with Doc, their hands are intertwined in a commissioning party. A little male kid runs to where they are and is immediately picked up by Doc, Antonio and Miranda are at the tail of the kid. They both exchange pleasantries with Sophia and Doc and we see Sophia get distracted by a familiar figure. The figure is revealed to be the Bahamas Soothsayer who shows her shock at the turn of events. Sophia explains that the love was not meant to be and though the child custody arrangement is not easy on both sides they have been able to accept that it is something both have to deal with for the child’s well-being.

So what do you think about any of these endings?

A Look At Telemundo's Cruel love Characters

If you have enough time to waste like I did writing this, then it would appeal to you in a different light

1. Sophia – Her Good Points

Case 1 – Her father abandoned yet she forgave and even begged him to come back.

Case 2 – She works to take care of not just herself but her family.

Case 3- She allows a renownedheartbreaker dis-virgin her amidst all warnings.

Case 4 – She marries him even though the bachelor night told her otherwise.

Case 5 – Her mother in law treats her like poo, makes her sign a pre-nuptial yet she was always courteous to the mother in law.

Case 6- She chose to remain close to her family and help them as always.

Case 7-Her husband brings his mistress to their honeymoon and later matrimonial bed yet she is determined to fight him.

 Case 8 –She gets pregnant and her husband’s sound of joy is initiating a threesome.

Case 9 – She is falsely accused of theft and has to worry about being pregnant, a cheating husband and a criminal charge against her neck.

Case 9 – Camilia almost kills her as she’s pregnant.

Case 10 – The Brando family always believedCamilia’s unseen goodness and Sophia’s paranoia even though a)Camilia had been proven to have slept with her husband, 2) Proven to want Sophia imprisoned under false allegation, c) to be a pathological liar

Case 11 –She always agrees to Cecilia’s demands even when she gets burnt in the process

Case 12 – She could have taken sole custody of Nick and also a bit of change from the Brando family but she did not.

Case 13 – Even when Antonio tries to take their child away, she begged for peace

Case 14 – Let’s face it, she could have damned the consequences and destroyed the project since the Brando family was ganging up against her at the custody trial but she chose peace.

Case 14- When Antonio rejects her, she was determined to be strong to finish the project before embarking on her personal fulfillment.

Case 16 – She is quick to forgive – from her father, Pedro, the condescending receptionist, Cecilia, Rocky, Antonio and his mother. In fact if Camilia had not continuously tried to harm her and her baby, she would have forgiven her

Case 17 – She was not mean to Miranda unlike Antonio who was always mean to any man that shows slight interest to Sophia

Case 18 – She helped save the Brando Company against all odds and attacks from different angles, she stayed till the finish.

Case 15 – She went back to her vomit over and over again.  I just couldn’t deal … “whish kainyeye love be that?”

Her bad Points

One case only – When she chose to stay and bail Rocky out of prison instead of going home with her husband

Final verdict – They should have given her a new love interest that is honest or are you telling me that the “rumour” about all men being dishonest is true? Let us face it in real life, even though Antonio has changed there is always going to be that doubt in her mind about him due to the many heart breaks he “dashed” her. Contrarily to online opinions she is a strong character who forgives easily, willing to place others needs ahead of hers, chooses to make mistakes and most importantly able to put her pride down.

2. Antonio– His Good Points

Case 1 – He gave Sophia an opportunity to work less and earn more while studying and brought Sophia’s father back into her life

Case 2 – He sold his boat because of Sophia and bought her a blue ford.

Case 3- He saved Sophia’s brother from addiction

His Bad Points

Case 1 – He is weak and easy to manipulate by everyone except Sophia

Case 2 – He says A while his actions are B

Case 3 – He left a needy pregnant wife for his selfish reason and then chose his dog over his son

Case 4 – He only goes after Sophia when it seems she doesn’t need him such as – a)when it seemed the doctor was taking his place b) when Sophia agrees to Rocky’s invitation c)when Sophia decides to leave for SA to study

Case 4 – He is a lazy bum okay, he fed too much on his family’s purse and is part of the reasons for their money problems

Case 5 – He could have just apologized to Rocky for his family’s part in the former’s father’s suicide but chose the convenient ignorance route

Case 6- He played around and made mistakes and thinks using the same tactics is cool

Case 7: He tried to sabotage Rocky’s career at the onset and was not particularly remorseful or apologetic about it

Final Verdict – Sophia is too good for him, Miranda is just the perfect antidote to get him in his right sense any time it makes a left turn. He is easily confused and quick to make rash decisions

3. Camilia – Her Good Points

1 big case – She was good about being bad and quite unapologetic, and oh she was the brain that got Brando the licence and bought houses without payment

Common Sins Killing Christians

Okay, maybe killing is the wrong word to use her. Nevertheless, there are sins the average Christian commit without remorse or guilt perhaps due to ignorance.

Common sin one – What we eat

Deuteronomy 14 vs. 7 -18 – it is clearly stated here that animals like pigs, snakes, eagles, dogs, snails etc are unclean and mustn’t be eaten by humans.

Common sin two – Type of farming

Deuteronomy 22 vs. 9 – It instructs that man must not plant two different plants on same farm land.
